Comments:
A renewal inspection was initiated and concluded on 12/4/2023.There were 17 children present with 3 staff supervising. The children were observed during arrival time, snack time, and engaged in board games, and coloring. A total of 5 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed. The inspection started at 3:35 pm and concluded at 4:25 pm.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B
Description: Based on observation and staff interviews, the licensee did not ensure hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, insecticides, and pesticides shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.

Evidence: In the cafeteria there were 3 spray bottles of True Shot disinfectant sitting on a table that was accessible to the children. They were labeled "keep out of reach of children" and "caution".

Plan of Correction: Recreation supervisor will work with school custodians to ensure that all hazardous substances are put away.
