A monitoring inspection was initiated on 12/13/23 and concluded on 12/13/23. There were 10 children present with 2 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed. The inspection started at 2:45pm and concluded at 3:45pm.
The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-510-I Description: Based on review of medication the center failed to ensure that medication had not expired as required.
Evidence:
The medication (Benadryl) for child A had expired as of 02/2023. This medication was in the active medication box to be administered in case of allergic reaction.Plan of Correction: The medication will be sent home and another one provided by the parent.
