The Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course shall be completed within 90 calendar days of employment (8VAC20-780-240-A). Staff shall complete annually a minimum of 16 hours of training appropriate to the age of children in care. Training completed to meet the requirements of this section shall be in addition to completing orientation. (8VAC20-780-245-A & B)
Parents shall be provided at least semiannually in writing information on their child's development, behavior, adjustment, and needs. (8VAC20-780-420)
Within 30 days of the first day of employment, staff must complete orientation training in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), as appropriate to the age of the children in care. (8VAC20-780-240-E)

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 12/13/2023 and concluded on 12/13/2023 from 10:45 AM to 12:45 PM. There were 23 children present, ranging in ages from four to five, with two staff and two parents. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies. A total of five children?s records and the five staff?s records were reviewed.
The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.
