An unannounced complaint inspection was initiated with center management on 12/14/23 from approximately 3:20pm to 3:45pm, in response to allegations received related to the care and protection of children in care and documentation of children's injuries. The inspection was continued off-site. Interviews were conducted and documentation was reviewed. The allegation related to documentation of children's injuries was determined to be valid and the corresponding violation cited can be reviewed on the Violation Notice. There was insufficient evidence to support the allegation related to care and protection of children in care. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-550-P Complaint related: Yes Description: Based on review of documentation and interview, the center did not maintain a written record of children's serious and minor injuries in which entries were made the day of occurrence. Evidence: On 12/7/23, a four-year-old child received a scratch on their cheek in the classroom at approximately 4:00pm. The center did not create a written report of the injury until 12/14/23. Plan of Correction: Any necessary documentation will be completed immediately.
