An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 12/28/2023 from 10:00 am - 12:15 pm. At the time of the tour there were 22 children, ages 2 1/2 years - 7 years, in care with 7 staff.
Children were observed during morning program time and lunch. Records were reviewed for four staff and four children.
The information gathered found one violation in the area of play equipment. This violation is listed on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-430-C Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that play equipment used by children shall have no pinch points.
Evidence:
1. The steering wheels on the playground play cars are loose which creates a pinch point.
a. The loose area is at the bolt where the wheel attaches to the car.Plan of Correction: Each bolt will be tightened to eliminate the loose area at the wheel attachment to the play car.
