1. Inspector provided an updated copy of NFF states as applicable to obtaining background checks.
- Comments:
-
Conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection at 10:50am. Observed 36 children + 7 direct-care staff. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. Children were observed eating snack, having story time, learning letters and sounds animals make, eating lunch, and departing for the day. Staff were actively engaged with the children and activities. The program areas were found to be clean and well supplied with toys and equipment for the children. An area of non-compliance with standards and laws reviewed was found. Questions about this inspection may be directed to pamela.sneed@doe.virginia.gov

Standard #: 22.1-289.035-B-4 Description: Based on records reviewed, 1 of 6 staff records did not include required out-of-state background checks. Evidence: Staff #10 began working in September 2023 and to-date there is no documentation that an out-of-state central registry search and out-of-state criminal record check were completed within the 1st 30-days of employment and to-date. Plan of Correction: I am continuing my search for the NY and MA paperwork we received back to clear #10 employee. In the meantime, I have started the process to have another background check run for these 2 states. hopefully we will receive clearance within 2 weeks or early Feb. [sic]
