An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted December 21, 2023 approximately 10:35 am to 12:20 pm. There were 124 children directly supervised by 34 staff. The physical plant, 10 staff records, 10 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, and policies were inspected.
A monitoring inspection was conducted today due to the Intensive Plan of Corrections issued on September 7, 2023. The center is in compliance with the the plan of corrections submitted to Licensing. There were no concerns during this inspection to the plan.
Children were observed participating in group play, reading books and playing outside. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.
Please submit plan of corrections within 5 business days in order for it to be included on the website.

Based on review of three staff records, the center did not have an original central registry report within 30 days of employment of a staff member.
Evidence:
1. Staff #1 (date of employment 10/10/2023) did have central registry results in the record and documentation it was submitted.
2. Staff #3 (date of employment 8/30/2023) did have central registry results in the record and documentation it was submitted.
3. Staff #6 (date of employment 10/04/2023) did have central registry results in the record and documentation of follow-up for request for Virginia. An out of state child abuse and neglect result for Pennsylvania (PA) was not obtained. The staff member has resided in the preceding within the last five years.
4. Staff #9 (date of employment 11/07/2023) did have central registry results in the record and documentation it was submitted.
5. Staff #10 (date of employment 11/02/2023) did have central registry results in the record and documentation it was submitted.Plan of Correction: Sent (CAN) for PA it was returend on 12/21/23 resent CR on 1/23/24.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-210-A Description: Based on staff records review, the center did not obtain documentation of program leaders shall be at least 18 years of age, have fulfilled a high school program completion or the equivalent.
