Comments:
An unannounced Monitoring Inspection was conducted today. A total of 26 children with 7 staff were observed in the 3 occupied classrooms. Observation of each classroom, large gross motor room and all bathrooms was made. The children were sitting at tables eating lunch at the beginning of the inspection. The older children were observed sitting in a circle while staff was reading a book to them. Cots were laid out in two classrooms as the children transitioned to nap time after washing their hands from lunch. The center was maintained and organized. Snow covered the outside playground area and observation of the playground was not completed today. Medication onsite and was reviewed. No topical ointment needs at this time. A total of 4 children's files, 5 staff files and the first aid kit were reviewed. The previous violations from the last inspection in October were reviewed and the corrective actions were verified. This inspection occurred between 11:30am and 12:45pm. Thank you for your cooperation. Please email me at: lisa.hudson@doe.virginia.gov with any questions.
