Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection started and ended on 2/2/2024 from 12:50 until 1:50. There were no children in care as it was a staff work day. One staff person was present and another participated by phone.

The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 staff records and 5 children?s records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violation were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 22.1-289.035-B-4
Description: Based on record review, the center failed to obtain out of state child abuse and neglect searches by the end of the 30th day of employment.
Evidence:
Staff #1 and #3 did not have out of state central registry checks completed within the required time frame.

Plan of Correction: Out of state central registry checks were completed for these two staff as soon as possible.
