Licensing inspector discussed file review plans and communication with HR during the inspection.

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on February 6, 2024, from 12:40pm-1:55pm. At the time of entrance, 106 children were in care with 14 staff members present. A sample of 4 of 7 classrooms (57 children, 8 staff) were observed. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 6 staff records. Children were observed napping. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-260-A Description: Based on record review, the center did not provide to the licensing representative an annual fire inspection report from the appropriate fire official having jurisdiction.
Evidence:
The fire inspection on site expired 09/2023.Plan of Correction: I will request a copy from the main office.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-540-E Description: Based on interview, the center did not have all required nonmedical emergency supplies.
Evidence:
Staff A stated that they did not have a battery operated flashlight on site.Plan of Correction: I will get a flashlight and batteries from the main office.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-550-D Description: Based on observation, the center did not implement a monthly practice evacuation drill.
Evidence:
The evacuation drills were not practiced in September 2023.Plan of Correction: Evacuation drills will be practiced monthly.
