A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was conducted on February 7, 2024 from 11:15 A.M.-2:15 P.M. There were 46 children present with 16 staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-F Description: Based on review of staff records and training certificates, the center failed to ensure that the department's health and safety updated course shall be completed annually.
Evidence:
1. Staff #5's last updated annual health and safety training was completed on 11/11/2022. There was not documentation that the annual and health and safety training had been completed in 2023.
2. Administration verified that there was no documentation in the record that the annual health and safety training had been completed for 2023.Plan of Correction: Personnel Tracker will be used to monitor when the annual health and safety training is required to be completed. It will be reviewed on a weekly basis. If staff fail to complete the training they will be removed from the schedule.
