An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on February 12, 2024 from approximately 10:00 am to 11:30 am. Five staff were present supervising twenty-one children ranging in age from infants through preschool. Children were observed playing blocks, participating in circle time and eating lunch. Five child and five staff records were reviewed. Violations found are noted on the violation notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-40-M Description: Based on observation and interview, facility did not ensure there is a current written list of all children's allergies, sensitives and dietary restrictions documented and maintained in each room or area were children are present.
Evidence: Staff staff in the 2's classroom there was child present with a food allergy. Staff stated the child started today. The child's name and allergy was not noted on the classroom allergy list.Plan of Correction: Children's name and allergy information was added to the classroom list today and dated.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Description: Based on observation, facility did not ensure hazardous substances such as cleaning materials are kept in a locked place.
Evidence: Disinfectant spray and disinfectant wipes labeled "Caution and keep out of reach of children" were observed stored in an unlocked cabinet under the sink in the infant classroom.Plan of Correction: These items will be moved to the locked cabinet in the classroom today.
