An investigation was initiated from 11:45 am - 1:15 pm in conjunction with a monitoring inspection to investigate a complaint received by the department regarding diapering. Interviews were conducted, documentation, child records, and staff records were reviewed. The complaint regarding diapering is determined to be valid.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-B Complaint related: Yes Description: Based on review of documentation and interviews it was determined that children's diapers were not always changed immediately when soiled. Evidence: On 01/26/2024 child A (Age 7 months) was last diapered at 11:30 am. When child A was picked up and taken home at 2:55 pm their diaper was soaked with urine through their clothes. Plan of Correction: The child was changed at 11:30. The diaper was wet.
Name to face check at 12:46 before going outside. The temperature was 72 degrees and stayed outside for the full 30 minutes.
1:20 Diaper was checked when brought back inside and was dry.
2:08 Child was placed in crib for their nap.
Mom picked up the child while the child was still asleep prior to the time of the next diaper check which would have been when child woke up on his own or 3:20 whichever occurred first.
