Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted on 2/27/2024 from 4:30pm to 5:30pm. Staff records were reviewed at the main office location on 2/28/2024. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI inspection. The two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice and discussed during the exit interview.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-D-1
Description: Based on record review and interviews, it was determined that the vendor did not ensure that all staff who work directly with children shall have within 90 days of the date of employment or 90 days from subsidy vendor approval. Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care.
1.The Recognition of Completion on file for staff #3 indicated it was only for the online learning component and did not include the hands-on evaluation.
2.The CPR card on file did not contain the date of the training or an expiration date, therefore it could not be determined if it was current.

Plan of Correction: Staff #3 has been scheduled to complete her in person portion of the CPR/First Aid training.
