An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm. There were 29 children in care being supervised by 4 staff. The children were observed resting. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of four child records and three staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-240-A Description: Based on review of three staff records it was determined that not all records contained documentation that the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course was completed within 90 days of employment. Evidence: The records for staff A (start date: 10/17/23), staff B (start date: 11/20/23), and staff C (start date: 10/10/22) did not have documentation of completion of the Virginia Pre-Service Orientation training on file. Plan of Correction: Staff A, B, and C will complete the Virginia Pre-Service Training orientation.
