An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on March 5, 2024, from 9:45am-10:40 am. At the time of entrance, ( 62 ) children were in care with (3 ) staff members present, more children arrived during this inspection. The inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 5 staff training records. Children were observed arriving to the all day program, participating in arts and crafts and games in the Gym. Medications were observed. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice.
SACC classrooms will undergo renovations possibly during the summer.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-60-A Description: Based on a review of children records and staff interview, staff have not obtained annual updates from parents about information in the child's record.
Evidence: Two of the Four children records reviewed did not have documentation from parents that the child information has been reviewed and updated. Child #2 and # 4 last update dated 8/2022.Plan of Correction: All children records will be reviewed and updated by the parents.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-350-B-5 Description: Based on observation and staff interview, the 1 staff to every 18 children ratio for the school age program was not being followed.
Evidence: Upon the inspectors arrival at 9:45 am there were 62 children, age range 5-12 years with 3 staff. One of the three staff were in the gym alone with 32 children. The children continued to arrive during this inspection. The other 2 staff arrived at 10:00 am.Plan of Correction: The center supervisor will contact the regional supervisor to request morning staff assistance for the next teacher work day.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-510-E Description: Based on a review of children medications, one child's emergency medication did not have a medication authorization form completed by the parent and physician.
Evidence: Child #1 has an emergency medication on cite. There is no medication authorization signed by the parent or physician for this medication to be administered.Plan of Correction: Staff will ask the parent to complete the medication authorization form and obtain the physician signature as well.
