Technical Assistance:
Staff purses should be stored in areas out of reach of children. If they contain medication or potentially hazardous materials they should be locked.

References taken over the phone need to include: the dates of contact; names of persons contacted; the firms contacted; results of the reference; and the signature of the person making the call.

Currently the acting program director is also acting as the lead teacher. Discussed that a lead teacher is in each grouping of children with the exception of the first and last hour of the day.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today at 11:00am. There was 1 child directly supervised by 1 staff. The physical plant, 2 staff records, 1 child?s records, medications, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. The child was observed playing with toys and books. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Based on observation, the findings of the most recent licensing inspection were not posted in a conspicuous place.
Evidence:
The acknowledgement form from the most recent licensing inspection was taped to the far side of a filing cabinet located behind the administrative desk. It was not visible to the public.

Description: Based on observation, medication was not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
1. A bottle of acetaminophen a bottle of naproxen, cream antihistamine, and antibiotic cream were observed in an unlocked first aid kit.
2. Two epinephrine auto injector pens were observed in an unlocked cabinet in the administrative desk.
