Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 03/06/2024 from 10:15 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. There were 66 children present, ranging in ages from 18 months to six years old with 12 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of five child records and five staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-560-G
Description: Based on observation and interview, the center failed to ensure that when food is brought from home, the container is clearly dated and labeled in a way that identifies the owner.
Evidence:
1. In the Primary 1 classroom, there were 13 cups without dates. Staff # 6 confirmed that the contents of the cups were brought from home and were not dated.
2. In the Primary 2 classroom, 3 lunchboxes were not dated, 1 cup did not have a name or date and all lunchboxes did not have dates. Staff #7 confirmed that the contents of the cups and lunchboxes were from home and were missing the dates and names.
