Technical Assistance:
The following was discussed with the designated person-in-charge, during the exit interview:
-It is recommended the emergency plan for the center is reviewed, particularly the instructions on who is responsible to emergency supplies and medications.

Comments:
A monitoring inspection was conducted on 03/08/2024. A tour of the facility was conducted, in addition to a record review and interviews with staff. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B
Description: Based on observation the center did not ensure all hazardous substances were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
In the multipurpose room there was a container of disinfectant wipes and a can of disinfectant spray accessible to children, on the countertop near the door.

Plan of Correction: The designated person-in-charge will create a space for chemicals to be stored in a locked area of the room
