Comments:
Today an unannounced monitoring Inspection took place between the hours of 11:20am and 1:30pm. There were 3 classrooms observed with a total of 15 children with 6 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed playing on the playground, transitioning inside, eating lunch and napping. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the Violation Notice.

Description: Based on observation, inside areas of the center were not maintained in a clean condition.
Evidence:
1. Ants were observed surrounding personal staff food inside a cabinet in the butterflies classroom.
2. Ants were observed on the counter in the infant classroom.

Description: Systemic Deficiency.
Based on observation, hazardous substances were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence: Spray bottles containing a bleach/water solution was sitting on top of a cabinet in the butterflies classroom, in an unlocked cabinet in the bright stars classroom, and on top of an open shelf in the hallway above the toddler changing table.
