An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 03/21/2024. There were 27 children present and 4 staff. A tour of the facility was conducted, in addition to a record review and interviews with staff. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 2 staff records, along with any requested program records submitted by the facility to determine if required documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-260-A Description: Based on a record review the center did not have documentation of having an annual fire inspection.
Evidence:
The last documented fire inspection report was dated 06/06/2022.Plan of Correction: The Fire Marshal will be contacted to schedule an inspection.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A Description: Based on observation the center did not ensure all areas of the center were maintained in a safe condition.
Evidence:
The toilets the children routinely use had an "out-of-order" sign on the door. Staff stated the children are temporarily using the toilets in the recreation center. The men's bathroom had a large area of peeling paint near the light switch and there was a metal care in the women's restroom that had rust on it.Plan of Correction: Staff will do a check of the public restrooms prior to the children using them.
