A monitoring inspection was conducted on February 21, 2024 with the center director and staff. There were 41 children present, ranging in ages from 5 months to 5 years, with 7 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 6 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed. The children were having lunch and laying down for rest.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-180-B Description: Based on observation and staff interview, the facility failed to have staff who work directly with children capable of communicating with emergency personnel.
Evidence: In the infant room, the inspector asked Staff 1 the age of the youngest child, the feeding schedule of one child, and how she communicates an emergency. Staff 1 responded "no English." In the toddler room, Staff 2 responded "no English" to questions.
