A self-reported monitoring inspection was initiated on 3/12/24 and concluded on 3/12/24. The inspector reviewed compliance in the area of programming. The inspection started at 9:00am and concluded at 9:45am.
The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-410-1 Description: Based on a self report by the center administration the center failed to ensure that rough handling of the children by staff does not occur.
Evidence:
Interviews and documentation supported that staff #1 grabbed child #1 on 3/7/24 by the upper arm, during nap time, leaving a scratch and what appear to be 4 nail marks. The marks and scratch are visible on the inner area of the upper arm.Plan of Correction: The staff member was immediately placed on leave pending the outcome of the investigation. Administration promptly self reported to the appropriate agencies.
All staff will be reminded of appropriate staff to children interactions to ensure future compliance.
