Inspector and director discussed lunch time routine and the amount of chair and tables in the classroom.

A mandated monitoring inspection was conducted on March 8, 2024 from 10:45am-12:10pm. There were 60 children in care with 10 staff supervising. Children were observed playing outside, participating in circle time, and eating lunch. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 5 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-B Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure there was a barrier to prevent children from being burned, shocked, or injured from heating equipment.

Evidence: Children sitting on the floor with lap tables at lunch regularly placed their hands on the ground to balance or move themselves.
