Technical Assistance:
Discussed the renovations to the classrooms and the need to submit the new floor plans for a possible modification of the capacity and the need to submit the building occupancy/building evaluation form Discussed the snack menu and substitution food notifications. Discussed the playground.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 3/28/2024 from 8:49am to 10:30am. At the time of entrance, 23 children were in care with 5 staff members present. Children were observed playing with toys and eating snack. (2) staff records and (3) children?s records, allergy action plans/medications, the physical space, evacuation drills and attendance records were reviewed. The site was clean and organized. Interactions between the children and staff were positive. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice.
Please complete the ?plan of correction? and ?date to be corrected? for each violation cited on the violation notice and return it to the department within 5 business days from receipt. Please specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Please do not use staff names; list staff by positions only.


Any plans of correction not received within 5 business days will result in the plans not appearing on the Violation Notice and public website.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-B
Description: Based on observation, the surface for diapering or changing did not meet all the requirements.
Evidence:
1. The changing pad in the busy bees classroom had a tear on the edge of the pad (approximately 2 inches) and was not considered a nonabsorbent surface.

Plan of Correction: We had a brand new mat in the
storeroom to replace the current.
The teacher has taken the new one
to replace the old mat.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-560-G
Description: Based on observation, food brought from home did not meet all requirements.
Evidence:
1. One child's name was labeled on a food container in the infant refrigerator and was not clearly dated.

Plan of Correction: The teacher has dated the
food and has said going
forward she will put a new date
in the morning.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-570-E
Description: Based on observation, prepared refrigerated infant formula was not dated.
Evidence:
1. Two bottles of infant formula were inside the infant classroom refrigerator with the child's name, but the bottles were not labeled with the date.

Plan of Correction: The teacher has dated the food.
She will date all the milk as it is
brought in the morning.
