Comments:
An unannounced focused inspection was conducted 2/27/2024 from 1:50pm through 3:05pm. There were 44 children present with 7 staff and all classrooms were in ratio. The physical plant, outdoor playground area, nutrition, 2 staff records, attendance, and diapering procedures were inspected. Children were observed during naptime. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-B
Description: REPEAT VIOLATION

Based on observation, the center did not ensure that all diapering areas have a leakproof covered receptacle for soiled linens.

Evidence: In the Infant room, soiled linens were stored in a white laundry basket with holes and also in a laundry hamper with a cloth liner.

Plan of Correction: Basket with holes removed from class, hamper with liner covered remaining in class.

Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that a menu listing foods to be served for meals and snacks during the current one-week period was posted in a location conspicuous to parents or given to parents.

Evidence: There was no February menu posted.

Plan of Correction: Menu post the first day of the month. (Full month instead of weekly)

Description: REPEAT VIOLATION

Based on observation, the center did not ensure that food brought from home was clearly dated and labeled in a way that identifies the owner.

Evidence: In the Infant room, there was one prepared bottle sitting on the counter that was not dated, one clear jar of food in the refrigerator that was not dated, and one clear jar of food in refrigerator that was not dated or labeled with the child's name.

Plan of Correction: Check food from home in the morning/drop off. Put name (1st, last, date).
-Label buckets in infant fridge.
