An unannounced renewal Inspection took place on April 9, 2024 between the hours of approximately 9:50 a.m. and 11:40 a.m. There were 5 classrooms observed with a total of 45 children with 7 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed playing outside, making rain clouds, painting and other organized activities. Positive interaction between staff and children were observed. A complete inspection of the physical plant, fire drill log, and emergency procedures was conducted during this inspection. 3 staff records and 5 children's records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that equipment of the center, outside, were maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.
Evidence: There were three tricycles on the playground that were rusted. One tricycle's seat had peeling plastic. One tricycle had broken plastic pieces with sharp edges.Plan of Correction: The tricycles were removed.
