Technical Assistance:
Discussed:
1) ensuring all children, including infants, have their hands washed before and after feeding
2) adding to the quantity and variety of toys and materials available to the infants in baby steps 1 so there is a diversity of sensory and perceptual experiences, and toys that support large and small motor development
3) mattresses in the cribs should be maintained at the lowest level, for all infants, at all times
4) the allergy list and allergy care plans shall be located with the children at all times
5) keep an eye on cracks and gaps in the pour and play and turf as they can be tripping hazards

Comments:
An unannounced focused monitoring inspection was conducted from 9:30 - 11:30 am with the director. There were 42 children, ranging from four months to seven years of age, present with ten staff supervising. Infant care was observed, and older children were observed playing with a variety of age-appropriate toys, engaged in arts and crafts activities, and outside on the playground. Five child records and five staff records were reviewed along with the written daily attendance, written allergy list, six medications and authorization forms, four allergy care plans and the emergency drill log.
