A monitoring inspection was conducted on 4/10/2024. 37 children were directly supervised by 6 staff. The physical space, 3 children's records, 3 staff records, attendance, evacuation drills and required posted documents were reviewed. Medications were in compliance. Children were
observed engaging in age-appropriate activities and interacting with the staff in a Montessori setting. Interactions were positive. Developmentally appropriate materials were available in all classrooms. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the Violation Notice issued to the program. Standard #: 8VAC20-770-60-C-2 Description: Based on record review, 1 out of 3 staff records reviewed, did not have central registry findings within 30 days of employment. Evidence: Staff C was hired 11/27/2023. No central registry finding was in the file. It had not been completed within 30 days of hire. Plan of Correction: The request for the central registry search will be sent in right away. Results will be shared with the Licensing Inspector once received.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-140-A Description: Based on record review, 1 out of 3 children's records reviewed did not contain a physical examination by or under the direction of a physician within 30 days after the first day of attendance. Evidence: Child A's start date was 1/29/2024. A physical was not obtained within 30 days. Plan of Correction: We will request the physical for Child A, from the parents, right away.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-70 Description: Based on record review, 2 out of 4 staff records did not include documentation that the individuals possessed the education, certification and experience required by the job position. Evidence: A diploma or degree were not available in the records for Staff A and Staff B. Plan of Correction: The required documentation will be obtained right away.
