Comments:
A renewal inspection was conducted on 04/17/2024. There were a total of 49 children with 17 staff members present. Children were observed during diapering procedures, playing soccer outside, transitioning inside, and playing with various toys throughout the center . The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 5 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-A
Description: Based on observation of classroom #115, the CDC did not ensure staff were following hand washing procedures.
Evidence:
Staff #1 was observed changing a child's diaper. Staff #1 did not wash the child's hands when the diaper change was complete.

Plan of Correction: We are going to reorient the employee on handwashing procedures and will have them resign the orientation document.
