A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on July 5, 2018 to review the supplemental health and safety requirements. Sixty-eight (68) children were enrolled and forty-nine (49) children were present, on this date. Staff included eight to eleven counselors, two site directors and two CITs (counselors-in-training). Five children's records, three children's medications, three topical ointments, accompanying authorization forms and medication administration logs were reviewed. Program observation was completed, including the observation of: a field trip at Gypsy Hill Park; restroom and handwashing procedures; transportation via school bus; lunch (nachos with cheese and salsa, sunbutter sandwiches, cucumbers, hummus, watermelon and milk); outdoor play; gym time; transitions, afternoon snack (poptarts) and departure of children. Follow-up was completed on July 10, 2018 and record review was completed at the administrative office on July 11, 2018. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same dates as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined covered all of the subsidy health and safety requirements. Only the subsidy requirements that were not covered in the licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were cited during this inspection.
A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.
