8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes

Technical Assistance:
Discussed with the vendor, physical plant, records, emergency preparedness plan and activities, transportation requirements.

Comments:
Conducted an unannounced annual subsidy inspection on 10/14/2022 from 12:20pm to 1:25pm. Observed 1 child (4 points) with the vendor. The child was napping during the inspection.
The home, emergency drills and emergency supplies were inspected. Children's information and vendor records were also reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined areas of non-compliance violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-180-B
Description: Based on observation and interview, the vendor did not keep a written hard copy of daily attendance that document the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs.

Evidence:
The vendor did not have a written hard copy of daily attendance for the week on 10/10/2022 - 10/14/2022.

Plan of Correction: Inspector received attendance records on the same day.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-190-A
Description: Based on record review, the vendor did not maintain, and keep written or electronic information for each enrolled child.

Evidence:
Child #1's record was not available for review during the inspection.

Plan of Correction: Vendor is working on Child's #1 record, she will have all forms completed by 10/28/2022.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-420-C
Description: Based on observation and interview, the vendor did not have a 911 or local dial number for police, fire, and emergency medical services and the number of the regional poison control center posted in a visible and conspicuous place.

Evidence:
A 911 or local dial number for police, fire, and emergency medical services and the poison control number were not posted in a visible and conspicuous place during the inspection.

Plan of Correction: Numbers have been posted.
