8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes

Technical Assistance:
Discussed annual training and Lockdown specifically as it pertains to a threat/alert to the home.

Comments:
An annual Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on October 25, 2022, to review the health and safety requirements. There were two children present (4 points) with the Vendor. The home, records, and program were observed. Violations were found during the subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-250-F
Description: Based on record review and interview, it was determined the Vendor did not complete annual Health and Safety update course.
Evidence:
1. Vendor had a dated certificate of 2020 for Department's Health and Safety course.
2. Vendor stated she did not complete the annual training in the last year.

Plan of Correction: I will take course this next week.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-430-A-3
Description: Based on interview, it was determined the Vendor did not practice an annual Lockdown.
Evidence:
1. Review of emergency drills, the Lockdown section stated it was a storm scenario.
2. Interview with the Vendor revealed the Vendor did not realize what a lockdown drill was and just did the same thing for shelter in place drill.

Plan of Correction: I will practice a lockdown drill.
