8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes

Comments:
An unannounced Unlicensed Subsidy Health and Safety (USHSI) inspection was conducted on 11/01/2022. This inspection was required since the vendor moved to a new address.

There were no children present during the inspection. Vendor is will and prepared to receive children.

The home, staff / children/ household member?s records, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There was an adequate supply of books, toys and materials for the children. Records, home, and program were checked.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-790-260-A
Description: Based on observation, some areas of the family day home were not maintained in a safe condition. Evidence:
1) Peeling paint was observed on the ceiling of the shower in the bathroom of the care area.

Plan of Correction: Management is working on it.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-410-B-2
Description: Based on review of emergency supplies and interview with the vendor, one working, battery-operated radio was not available.
Evidence:
1) On the date of inspection, a battery-operated radio was available in the fdh, however, the batteries had died making it non-working. The vendor did not find additional batteries.

Plan of Correction: All fixed.
