8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes

Technical Assistance:
Information was given on obtaining free on-line training opportunities at the childcareva.com website under the Professional Training tab.

Comments:
An unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted on December 12, 2022, beginning at 10:45am and ending at 12:20am. There was one (1) child in attendance at the time of the inspection. Required background searches, training certificates and household member information was reviewed. A sample of requirements for daily attendance, child information/records, emergency preparedness planning and supplies were also reviewed. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or laws and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the vendor.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-790-190-B
Description: Based on observation and interview, the vendor did not obtain the immunization record for the child received on or before the child?s first day of attendance.
Evidence:
1. Child #3 does not have immunization record in file.
2. Vendor reviewed file and acknowledged there was no immunization record on file.

Plan of Correction: Vendor called mother immediately and immunization record was provided during the inspection.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-390-E
Description: The diapering surface was not cleaned and sanitized after each use.
Evidence:
1. There are no cleaning or disinfecting products available to clean and sanitize the diapering surface.
2. Vendor acknowledged she was using a cleaning wipe on the diapering surface.

Plan of Correction: I will start using soap & water to clean and then sanitize it.

Vendor corrected the violation during the inspection.
