Daily outdoor time for the children was discussed with the program director. The facility is not using the climbing structures behind the school.
Also discussed was the need to inspect areas that are shared with other programs to ensure there are no safety issues.
A master list of allergies, dietary preferences and restrictions will be dated and kept with staff in each area where children are present.

A renewal inspection was conducted on 6/30/2022. There were 64 children present, ranging in ages from 5 through 12 years.. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. .
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program and discussed with the program director during the exit interview.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Description: Based upon observation and staff interview, the facility has not ensured that hazardous substances are kept in locked places using a safe locking methods that prevent access by children.
Evidence:
1. There were three containers of hand sanitizer labelled "warning", "flammable" and "external use only" on a shelf in an unlocked cabinet in the Kindergarten/First Grade classroom.
2. There was an aerosol container of Lysol disinfecting spray labeled "caution" and "flammable" on a shelving unit in the music room.
3. Staff 1 acknowledged that the above substances were not in locked locations.Plan of Correction: The facility responded with the following:
All staff will be reminded in today's meeting to be diligent regarding the use and storage of potentially harmful substances. Routine checks of areas used by the children will be made at the beginning of and throughout the day.
