An annual subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted today. The vendor was present with 3 children in care, a total of 7 points. Observed the children playing and watching a TV show. The children are building with blocks and playing with cars. The space used for child care has lots of toys to explore . The vendor will not transport the children in care but will provide meals. Discussed the emergency drills with the provider, she has been doing weekly drills and informed her that monthly drill is all she needs to do. This inspection was started at 9:40 and ended at 11:00. Please call me at 703-203-8659 if you have any questions regarding this inspection.
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-005-B Description: Based on interview with the vendor and review of records, the vendor failed to maintain a written hard copy record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs. Evidence: The vendor has no record of attendance on file , she has attendance logs that are not filled out. Plan of Correction: I will start doing attendance tomorrow. I have the forms , I thought I had to use a different one for each child but I understand now I can use one form.
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-006-B Description: Based on the review of two children's records, the vendor is missing some components to complete the records. Evidence: The vendor is missing the emergency contacts address for both the records reviewed at today's visit. Plan of Correction: I will ask the parents for the information today.
