Comments:
An unannounced SHSI inspection was conducted today. The vendor was present but did not have any children in care. She is caring for a 3 year old but he was absent today.
Lots of toys for children to play with and space. The apartment complex has a playground nearby.
A violation notice was given to the vendor and we discussed smoke detectors and how they work.
Please call me at 703-203-8659 or email me at pernille.brandt@doe.virginia.gov if you have any questions regarding this inspection.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-790-260-A
Description: Based on the review of the physical plant the vendor failed to have a smoke detector in an operable condition.
Evidence: The smoke detector was beeping the whole inspection. The vendor explained that the apartment complex maintenance person had come last week to fix it and told the vendor it was suppose to beep all the time.

Plan of Correction: I will contact maintenance and ask them to fix it so it stops beeping.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-430-B
Description: Based on the review of the emergency drill records sheet the provider failed to record a drill.
Evidence: The drill for February were not recorded on the emergency record.

Plan of Correction: Mixed during the inspection, I will make sure I write it down as soon as I do the drills.I did it Monday and just forgot to record it.
