8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes

Comments:
An announced initial subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted on 06/06/2023, beginning at 9:00am and ending at 10:40am. There were no children in attendance at the time of the inspection. The Inspector reviewed required background searches, training certificates and household member information. A sample of requirements for daily attendance, child information/records, emergency preparedness planning, physical plant and first aid supplies were also reviewed. No medication was on sight. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or laws and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the vendor.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-790-410-A-1
Description: Based on observation and interview, the family day home's first aid kit did not contain at a minimum all the required items.
Evidence:
1. The first aid kit was missing adhesive tape and single-use gloves such as surgical or examination gloves.
2. Caregiver #1 acknowledged these items were not in the kit.

Plan of Correction: We will go today and buy the adhesive tape and gloves.
