8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes

Technical Assistance:
Discussed the annual training requirements (16 hours to be completed by the end of the year 2023). Discussed the lockdown drills must be recorded on the drill record.

Comments:
An in-person annual subsidy inspection was conducted on 7/11/2023 from 9:25am to 10:04am. There were (4) children in care with the vendor and (2) resident children. The inspector reviewed (4) children?s records and (4) adult/household member records submitted by the vendor to ensure compliance with the health and safety regulations.
Information gathered during the inspection determined areas of non-compliance with applicable regulations or law, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the vendor.

Evidence:
1. The number of the regional poison control center was posted, but 911 or a local dial number for police, fire and emergency medical services was not posted in a visible and conspicuous place.

Plan of Correction: I will write 911 down and post it.

Description: Based on review of drill records and interview, the vendor did not maintain a record of the dates of the lock down drills for one year.
Evidence:
1. The vendor stated that she did the lockdown drills, but did not record the dates of the drills for 2022 or 2023.

Plan of Correction: I will write down the lockdown drills.
