An unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted at 10:32am. Observed 2 children in care + 2 children that live in the home totaling 5 points with 1 caregiver. Ratios and supervision were incompliance. The children were playing with toys and watching a child appropriate cartoon on a tablet. Children in care packed their own lunches today. The home was sufficiently supplied with toys and equipment for the children. Areas of non-compliance with subsidy requirements and laws reviewed were found. Standard #: 8VAC20-790-170-C Description: Based on records reviewed, the vendor failed to ensure that caregivers and household members completed background checks every 5 years.
Evidence:
1. Caregiver #1-The previous criminal record check was completed 7/31/18.
2. Household member #1-The previous criminal record check was completed 7/18/18.Plan of Correction: The inspector assisted the vendor in finding a phone number for Fieldprint to schedule the fingerprinting. The vendor said she will complete the fingerprinting.
Standard #: 8VAC20-790-190-A Description: Based on observations made and interview conducted, the vendor did not ensure that 2 of 2 children in care today had an enrollment record. Evidence: Child #7 and Child #8 were in care today, but the vendor said she did not have a record of enrollment as care was just for today. Plan of Correction: The vendor said the children were not enrolled and were drop-in care today. She said she would have parent/guardian complete the emergency information form.
