8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes

An in-person annual subsidy inspection was conducted on 10/10/2023 from 9:08am to 10:06am. There were no children in care with the vendor. The inspector reviewed (4) adult/household member records submitted by the vendor to ensure compliance with the health and safety regulations.
Information gathered during the inspection determined areas of non-compliance with applicable regulations or law, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the vendor.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-270-A Description: Based on observation, potentially poisonous substances, materials, and supplies such as, but not limited to, cleaning agents, disinfectants and deodorizers were not stored in areas inaccessible to children.
Evidence:
1. A bottle of bleach and an air freshener were on the floor of the bathroom children will use.Plan of Correction: I put in the closet and locked it.
Standard #: 8VAC20-790-430-B Description: Based on review of the drill records. the vendor did not maintain a record of the dates of the lockdown practice drills for one year.
Evidence:
1. The vendor stated she had practiced the lockdown drill in 2022, but did not record the date or information.Plan of Correction: I will start writing it down.
