Comments:
An unannounced annual inspection was conducted on 11/6/2023 from 11:20 am-12:15 pm. There were 2 children present and 1 direct caregiver. The home, 1 Caregiver record, 2 children?s records, 2 household member records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Violations:
Standard #: 22.1-289.035-A
Description: Based on record review and interview, 1 of 3 background checks were not repeated every five years.

Evidence: The criminal history background check for Household Member #1 expired in May 2023.

Plan of Correction: Once I receive the last background check, it will be added to my records. I've made reminders for 10/2028 for the next background checks.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-190-A
Description: Based on record review and interview, the vendor failed to maintain, and keep at the family day home, written or electronic information for each child enrolled, which was not available to the department's representative upon request.

Evidence: Child #2 did not have a file available to review.

Plan of Correction: I received Child's #2 file. For the future, I will not begin working w/ the family until I receive all of the paper-work.
