8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes

Technical Assistance:
Discussed cleaning supplies and areas to keep them out of reach, discussed training hours annually. Training opportunity links will be sent. Discussed one more shelter in place drill and one lockdown drill is needed by the end of the year.

Comments:
An in-person annual subsidy inspection was conducted on 12/07/2023 from 9:19am to 10:09am. There were (3) children in care with the vendor (10 points). The children were playing with toys and sleeping in a crib. Interactions between the children and vendor were positive. The inspector reviewed (3) children?s records and (1) adult/household member records submitted by the vendor to ensure compliance with the health and safety regulations.
Information gathered during the inspection determined areas of non-compliance with applicable regulations or law, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the vendor.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-170-C
Description: Based on record review, the vendor did not undergo a background check every five years for the Virginia Central Registry.
Evidence:
1. Vendor #1 had central registry results dated 12/04/2018 and had been more than 5 years. It is required to be redone every five years from the last received results.

Plan of Correction: I will notarized the papers and will send them to the county.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-360-M
Description: Based on observation, the vendor had toys or objects hung over an infant in a crib used for infants older than five months of age or infants who are able to push up on their hands and knees.
Evidence:
1. During the inspection, a six month old infant (Child #1) was in a crib that had a toy mobile hanging about the infant.

Plan of Correction: I removed them immediately.
