8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes

Technical Assistance:
Discussed with the provider: annual training requirements, including the 3-hour annual health and safety update

Comments:
An unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted on February 14, 2024, between the hours of approximately 11:00 a.m. and 11:55 a.m. There were 0children in attendance at the time of the inspection. The provider stated that there are no children currently enrolled. Required background searches, training certificates and household member information was reviewed. Emergency preparedness planning and supplies were also reviewed. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or laws and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the vendor.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-250-F
Description: Based on caregiver interview, not all caregivers annually attended at least 16 hours of training, to include the department's health and safety update course.

Evidence:
1. Caregiver #1 confirmed that they did not complete any trainings since February 2023.
2. Caregiver #1 confirmed that they did not complete the department's health and safety update course.

Plan of Correction: I will start taking trainings tonight.
