8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes

Comments:
An initial subsidy health and safety inspection was initiated on 8/24/22 and concluded on 8/24/22. There were no children present the day of the inspection. The provider?s to ensure documentation was complete. The physical plant was observed and the provider was interviewed regarding policies and procedures. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-790-410-A-1
Description: Based on observation, the first aid kit did not have all the minimum components.

Evidence:
1. First Aid kit was missing scissors, tweezers, antiseptic cleansing solution, and single use gloves.

Plan of Correction: Provider sent photograph documentation of completed first aid kit with all components included.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-420-A
Description: Based on document review and interview, provider did not have a written emergency preparedness plan that addresses caregiver responsibility and home readiness with respect to emergency evacuation, relocation, lockdown, and shelter-in-place procedures.

Evidence:
1. Provider did not have an emergency preparedness plan on file.
2. Provider confirmed they did not have an emergency preparedness plan on file.

Plan of Correction: Provider sent documentation of completed Emergency Preparedness Plan.
