This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A code compliance inspection was initiated on and concluded on 3/11/21. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 16 children and 3 staff present. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 4 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. A virtual walk through of the center was conducted during which classrooms and outdoor space was reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable code sections and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-A Description: Based on record review and staff interview, the center did not maintain VA central registry findings for an employee.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 1's record did not include the VA central registry finding results.
2. Staff # 1 stated that she could not locate the results.Plan of Correction: A notarized request has been submitted by the center to request the results. The center will follow up with the licensing inspector as soon as the results have been obtained.
