The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs. New guidance was issued by DSS 4/15/2021 and was forwarded with the inspection notes.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 03/24/2021 and concluded on 04/06/2021. The RECDC was contacted by email to initiate the inspection. There were fifty eight children with direct care staff in ratio for supervision. Reviewed nutrition, postings, staff background checks, trainings and emergency preparation. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1721.1-B-4 Description: Based on record review and staff statement, 2 of 15 staff records do not have a copy of the results of a criminal history record information check, a sex offender registry check, and a search of the child abuse and neglect registry or equivalent registry from any state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years.
Evidence:
Staff #1 and 2 are missing Central Registry Checks from out of state.Plan of Correction: Search requests were mailed out and have been filed in the staff record with required documentation.
