An unannounced monitoring visit was conducted today 2/27/2015. There were 13 children in care at a total of 27 points with the licensee and two assistant. The inspector arrived at 9:50 A.M. and departed the program at 1:30 P.M. The inspector reviewed five children's and two staff's and two household member's records. . Observed the children during: play time, story time, lunch and nap. Discussion with licensee about: updates on the paperwork for children, using cribs for children not able to be on a cot or rest mat and making triangular bandages from material.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-210-A
Description: Based on review of staff's records, the licensee failed to ensure that the required 16 hours of annual training was obtained. Evidence: 1. The inspector found that the licensee had 8 hours of the required 16 hours of annual training.

Plan of Correction: The licensee will obtain the missing hours via the CDA class which begins in the Fall.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-410
Description: Based on observation of the child care area, the licensee failed to ensure that all portable electric fans were shall be securely mounted out of reach of children. Evidence: 1. The inspector found that a portable stand electric fan in the child care area that was not securely mounted and did not have the required mesh guard.

Plan of Correction: The licensee will remove the fan and will make sure that it is not used during child care hours.
