- Technical Assistance:
The Division of Licensing Programs does not accept online CPR/First Aid courses if it does not include an in=person skills demonstration as part of the training. Certification for first aid and CPR courses require students to show competency by successfully passing a knowledge test and demonstrating skills proficiently. Please refer to the Family Day Home Standards for a list of approved training providers. Consult provided on Nap: Opportunities for one or more regularly scheduled rest or nap periods must be provided.
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted beginning at 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with the provider. There were four children in care ranging in age from thirteen months to four years for a total of ten points. Children were observed having free play. After free play, two younger children were put down for nap. Two older children were served a snack of pomegranate, apple slices and water. After snack, older children went down for nap. Hand washing procedures were observed. Four children's records and one provider record were reviewed. Emergency drills were up to date. First Aid and emergency supplies were reviewed. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-800-A Description: Based on review of documentation and interview with the provider, the emergency preparedness and response plan was not reviewed annually. Evidence: The most recent emergency preparedness plan was dated 9/1/2010. Plan of Correction: The emergency preparedness plan will be reviewed annually.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-900-B Description: Based on observation, the provider allowed a child to lay down and drink. Evidence: A two year old was observed laying down and drinking a bottle. Plan of Correction: Children will not be allowed to lay down and drink.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-920 Description: Based on review of the weekly menu, it was not complete for the one week period of 10/26/2015-10/30/2015. Evidence: There were no a.m. snacks listed for 10/29 and 10/30. Plan of Correction: This will be updated immediately.
